Carrie Underwood Misses 'American Idol' Finale Due To Covid Exposure

Country superstar Carrie Underwood was forced to miss the star-studded finale of Season 20 of "American Idol" on Sunday, May 22, due to Covid-19 exposure.

"American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest revealed the news at the beginning of the episode.

"There was a COVID exposure within Carrie Underwood's group," he stated. "So following protocol, she is unable to perform tonight. Sad, but you can check her out on her tour, Denim & Rhinestones. That tour coming this fall. So, go see her."

Underwood was set to deliver the live debut of "Denim & Rhinestones" during the three-hour finale.

Underwood, who previously won Season 4 of "America Idol," had appeared on Season 20 to mentor the Top 5 from her Las Vegas residency.

Underwood is currently set to release her ninth studio album, Denim & Rhinestones on June 10.

The album will feature 12-tracks, including the lead single "Ghost Story," as well as the title track, "Crazy Angels" and the recently released "She Don't Know."

Parker McCollum Celebrates Double Platinum And Gold Singles

Parker McCollum has earned Double Platinum And Gold RIAA certifications for two of his chart-topping hits.

The Americana and country singer-songwriter was surprised with two RIAA plaques Saturday night ahead of his sold-out show at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville.

The plaques were presented to him by RIAA's Jackie Jones, his label team at UMG Nashville, and Red Light Management.

The two plaques celebrate McCollum's No.1 hits "Pretty Heart," which has been certified 2x multi-Platinum, and "To Be Loved By You," which has been certified Gold.

These songs are from his new album Gold Chain Cowboy, which was released last summer.

"What can I even say? I have a double Platinum hit and a Gold hit to start my career at the best record label in music," said McCollum. "Universal Music Group Nashville/ MCA Nashville has been incredibly patient with me and allowed me to craft these songs the same way I always have. I am forever grateful for this opportunity to swing it in the big leagues of country music. We are just getting started."

McCollum is set to make his debut at the CMA Fest in Nashville on June 12. He will also make his first appearance on the iconic music-television series "ACL Live" on July 26.

Elle King, Dierks Bentley Share Wild West-Themed 'Worth A Shot' Video

Elle King and Dierks Bentley recently released a music video for their new duet, "Worth A Shot."

The wild west-themed visual, shot on location in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, sees Bentley playing the role of a man wanted by the law. King, who plays his wife, locates him in his favorite poker house but finds other people in town have already found him.

After convincing others to let Bentley go and allow her to punish him, she finds him making trouble once again. She then dresses up like a man and challenges people at the poker house to a drinking contest, aiming to save her husband from the townspeople.

The visual ends with the law looking for the couple after King knocks down the Sheriff who tried to arrest Bentley.

In a behind-the-scenes video posted on social media, Bentley reveals that the concept for the video was crafted by King. King's husband Dan Tooker and son Lucky also appear in the video.

Ross Copperman and Shane McAnally wrote "Worth a Shot." Stephen Kinigopoulos and Alexa Stone directed the visual.

King and Bentley previously teamed up for "Different for Girls" in 2016.
