An 18-year-old woman from Grand Haven was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, Sep. 22, after a two-vehicle crash on Perry Avenue in Big Rapids.

According to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, a 22-year-old woman from Gowen was traveling east on Perry Avenue through the traffic light at the intersection of 215th Avenue. The 18-year-old driver, who was stopped at a flashing yellow turn signal, then attempted a left turn and struck the 22-year-old woman’s vehicle.

The Grand Haven woman was taken to Corewell Health Big Rapids Hospital with minor injuries. The crash occured around 3:20 p.m.

Deputies were assisted by Meceola Central Dispatch, the Michigan State Police, Mecosta County EMS and Big Rapids Township Fire and Rescue.
