Spectrum awards $2,500 to God's Helping Hands of Mecosta County

On Friday, July 17, Spectrum announced they will be donating $2,500 to God's Helping Hands of Mecosta County through an employee-driven grants program.

God's Helping Hands is a community coalition supported by nine local churches that provide heat, food, and other needs. This grant is going towards a garden fresh fruits and vegetables garden.

"Spectrum Employee Community Grants support local nonprofits that hold a meaningful connection to the Spectrum employees who nominate them, and to the communities they serve,” said Rahman Khan, Group Vice President of Community Impact at Charter. “Looking forward to the next five years, we’re increasing our investment in the program, in support of our employees’ dedication to volunteer work and vital community organizations that enhance the lives of local residents.”

Senator Roger Hauck and State Representatives Tom Kunse to recognize nonprofit's impact on Friday morning. God’s Helping Hands of Mecosta County was nominated by Chris Gilbert, Director of Mobile Products, who has volunteered for the nonprofit alongside his mother, Cecile Gilbert, and father, Ray Gilbert, Executive Director of God’s Helping Hands.

"Spectrum’s support plants a seed of nutritious food that will benefit every individual that visits our emergency food pantry,” Chris Gilbert said.
